I would use the businesscards to help establish myself as a freelance web designer since I’m breaking into the business and going to school at the same time.

In the old days (ca. 1920’s), callers would present their personal card upon arriving at a home or business. I plan to bring back that cool tradition of the “personal calling card”, but update it for modern times to include: name / website / blog / email / phone / facebook / twitter. That way, whenever I meet someone new (or old), I don’t have to give them my boring work business card, or search for a scrap of paper to write on, and they will have all my contact info in one convenient piece of future ephemera.

I’d use them to promote my freelancing. I was laid off late last year, and I’m still trying to build up a solid client list. Professional business cards would really, really help! 🙂

I would use them to promote my new website because I’m a new designer just graduated last year. And hopefully I can get enough freelance work to become full-time freelancer.
