Free Vector Combination
August 17, 2007
In my post about Free Vector Wings I talked about how you could make a really cool coat of arms design by combining elements from different freebie packs. Well I decided to give it a try myself.
All of the elements in this design are currently on the site except the lion, banner, and I think one or two other objects. I just thought everyone could use a few new elements to work with. I have another free vector pack under construction so check back soon, its Ben Blogged!

Hi Alejandro,
My advice is to keep pushing your designs… if you want creative projects boost your portfolio with some you made just for fun. This shows your motivated and creative. Good luck and thanks.

uuuuh im kinda [EXTREMELY] new at this and i was just wondering….
after i download the eps file for photoshop use, how do i get to use ONE of the crests ALONE without getting those loose ends from the other ones?
is it just a simple crop or do have something solid that i can use?

Hi Fijian Native,
There are a couple ways you can accomplish this.
1. Simply crop it like you said or
2. Use the Lasso or Polygonal Lasso Tool (second tool set down on the left hand side of the tool bar) and select around the item you want then hit copy…. now either open a new document or create a new layer and paste your image.
Please let me know if that helps and makes sense.

All you need to do is download the EPS and open that in Photoshop. Let me know if you have any other problems.

Hey,
I really enjoy your work. I don’t know how to do all of these type of things. I mean these modern designs. Can you help my class design something. It can be an interesting challenge.

Thanks for the file! It helped me to make a cool sticker for my motorcycle! I changed some details and added text in gothic type, looks pretty awesome :)))

Hey Ben,
As always, love the freebies and the site. Just a quick question. I’m looking to use one of the wings in a project I’m working on and I just wanted to double check your usage rights. I want to use it in a poster and some other collateral I’m working on as a background element for a client. Just wanted to make sure you’re cool with it. If not, it’s no big deal, I’d just hate for you to see it somewhere if you never gave permission to use it. Thanks!
